Laws in many states, provinces, and countries set a minimum age for apps like PhotoCircle to protect children's privacy online, so we need to confirm you are old enough to use our service.

The minimum age to use PhotoCircle is set by the laws where you are — 13 in most countries and states, and higher in some. You can read more in What is the minimum age to use PhotoCircle?

We only ask when we have to, and we only ask for the month and year

Some phones and app stores already tell us which age range an account belongs to. When that information is available, we use it and we don't ask you anything.

When it isn't available, we ask you for the month and year you were born.

What we keep

  • A single age: the youngest you could be based on the information we have, up to 18
  • Where that came from (your app store or you)
  • The date we recorded it, so your age moves forward on its own and we don't need to ask again as you get older

We don't store your birth month or year — we use it once to work out your age.

What we use it for

Three things only: confirming you meet the minimum age, applying age-appropriate settings to your account, and meeting our obligations under child-protection and privacy laws.

What we don't do with it

We don't use your age to target ads to you, and we don't share it with anyone — except that, if you're under 18, the app tells our ad partners so they switch personalized ads off.

If you entered the wrong birth month or year

Contact us at support@photocircleapp.com or using the in-app support chat, and we'll help you correct it.
