Location metadata is automatically removed for all media uploaded by users under 18.
If you are 18 or older, we currently do not offer an in-app option to disable location (though we have plans to in the near future). To prevent PhotoCircle from storing location data, you can either stop the location getting into the file in the first place, or take it out before you upload.
Turn Location Services Off For Your Devices
Note that when you change these settings, they will only apply to photos you take after making the change. It won't change photos you've already taken.
- iPhone and iPad: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Camera → Never.
- Android: Open your camera app, open its settings, and turn off location tagging. Depending on your phone it may be called Location tags, Save location, or GPS tag.
Menu names change between versions, so yours may differ slightly.
Remove location from a photo you've already taken
- iPhone and iPad: open the photo in Photos, tap Share, tap Options at the top of the screen, turn off Location, then share to PhotoCircle.
- Android: in Google Photos, open the photo, open its details, and remove the location.
